When I remove the bulb from the drivers side stop light, the passenger side stop light works when the pedal is depressed. However, once I place the bulb back into the socket on the drivers side, the #11 fuse blows when the brake pedal is depressed. What should my fist steps be for determining how to fix this? Is there anything specific I should check for? Thanks for your help! |

I assume this is on your 74 standard.
The left (driver's) side brake light wiring has a wire attached that went to the diagnostic port. It is a black wire w/ red stripe, branching off the last plastic connector before the brake light bulb (probably behind the left side tarboard in your engine bay but not positive.) Check to make sure that wire is not grounding out. |

Fixed! It turned out that the ground behind the drivers side tarboard in the engine compartment was all corroded and gunked up with crap from water leaking in. Sanded the terminals and wrapped in electric tape. All seems to work! Thanks! |
