I need to replace the chrome bezels on some old 52mm gauges and a split beetle clock, Where in the world can you buy these with the tabs that bend over on the backs? All the ones I see need a crimp tool of some kind.
Also, where can you get the glow in the dark like almond incandescent paint for the needles? Frustrating. Tim

I am all about to have a source for those bezels.
When I can get them I will tell here.
The old style stuff the needles where painted in has been radioactive
and is not used any more.
You can buy "glow in the dark" powder that can be mixed into clear paint.
Maybe that will do the job? You could try. |

Thank you! let me know if you ever find a source. Last thing I need for my VDO glove box clock to get it in my car besides painting the hands. I also have some very old other gauges that need bezels.
Just a side note. be very careful if you ever take a rare clock or a gauge to someone to fix or restore. Even people you think know. I got a rare clock back with the hands painted white? I almost flipped! They didn't even try to match the original color, and the new bezel ruined because they didn't know how to put it on. |

radioluminescent paint looks almost white in daylight when new. it gets darker with time due to the degradation of the pigments induced by the radioactive isotopes in the paint itself. |
