i need to find the right bolts for the rear shocks, a '67 IRS bug
can someone tell me the size and grade, for the upper and lower.
someone has used the wrong bolts, they have bent
and whoever did this, tapped a thread through the upper mount
an that's not a bolt, they used a threaded bar with a nut on each end |

Check your paperwork, your car is not a 67.
The bolts are grade 10.9, size M12. Measure the length you need.
The bolts VW used had M12x1.5 thread, but any hardware store you go to will supply you with M12x2 thread. |

Bruce is in Canada. Ace Hardware typically has way more metric stuff than HD or Lowes.
Agree, not 1967 model year, photo shows IRS drive shaft. |

They're 17m wrench size. Go to a Mercedes scrapper and get some 17s from a frame that are the right length, or long ones and cut them. They're good quality. |

Yes, they are a 12MM X 1.5 pitch bolt, nut and washer combo. available at most all well stocked hardware stores. Some stores with a limited selection you might have to upgrade to 10.9 hardened Allen head bolts to get the desired pitch/length/shoulder combination you need.
Either way they are all going to be rounded off to the nearest 5mm.
I'd say the sample in your picture looks to be close enough to get a good overall length from, so why not just measure it as a reference :?:   |

Is your 67 modified to accept an IRS? The IRS was not introduced until 68 on the Auto-stick and replaced the swingaxle completely in 69 |

His chassis is 68 or later. It is not a 67 chassis that's been modified. |
