I'm not very familiar with the 914..... but I see a nice 914 for sale ....
so my questions are:

"structure has rot and rust"
Seller did not bother to include pictures of said rust. Could be Fugly. |

Depending on rust, could be great deal, or not so much.
What are you hoping to do with it?drive it? Flip it?
They are a blast to drive- compared to type 1, they do corner on rails.
Picked a 76 2.0 914 for my wife. Rough hood and paint, . Redid brakes, put carbs on it, and she loves driving it.
Again, depending on the rust levels and yr intentions, could be really good. |

I have a 68 Bug and a 70 914.
Besides rust, it is important to make sure that parts are there as many are expensive and or hard to find. Of course if things work that is important also. Some things are a little more complicated to fix.
A 914 is a lot of fun to drive |

Check out the hell hole that will tell the story. If battery box is rotted out, I would pass. |
