For the Sportster fans : I got the build plans I ordered on the Sportster yesterday its pretty interesting reading. I have to have the nose piece made for mine so thats why I ordered them. After looking at them you could order certain parts for it if you didn't want to build them from scratch. The prices back then were pretty cheap compared to now. But then again it was a different time. I dont think I can get a top made for 110.00. The instructions tell you what taillights to use ect. It also says to trim the metal with tin snipes on the taillights to make them sit straight. Also the rims that were used was 14 x7 in the rear and a 15 x 4.5 ( I think) in the front. Plus it has wiring diagrams also.
Something funny the wife came out to the shop and I had her sit in so figuring out how to get in it was funny, my side bars are a little different than the plans call for . So I sat in the other side. You are a lot closer in that thing than the dune buggy. I'm not going to change to change the bars cause they are built to fit the soft doors that came with it. |
