I'm looking to improve the lighting ability in my headlights. While looking at what might be involved, I was looking closely into my low beam headlight and there is a kinda frosted glass tube surrounding the halogen bulb. I've changed out plenty of bulbs over the years in many vehicles and have never seen this arrangement. It's like a hot dog(bulb) in a round bun (the frosted looking glass tube)!! It seems like this arrangement would minimize the full reflection thus brightness of the light. Is this a "standard" configuration in these headlamps and I'm the last to discover it?!!
And so far, I'm looking closely at the GoWesty bright light kit for high and low beam. Anyone installed this newest version?? Did it light up your world??!
Thanx Team |

I'm a classic square-incandescents-90s headlights kinda guy and this lit up my world.
See this thread: E-Code Square headlights, with relays for 400watts (how-to) |

What Sodo said above, plus some good quality bulbs (Nightbreaker or the like) with a 4000K colour temperature, and of course, headlight relays.
Each one of these three items will give a noticeable improvement. Combine all three, and let there be LIGHT! |
