			| My dad and I bought this car together in 1998 from a guy in town. We had been begging him to sell it to us for about a decade. It's in pretty good shape--body is near perfect, original engine/tranny (as far as I can tell). The exterior was resprayed a while back and is starting to look bad. Future plans include new top/headliner, paint, window and top seals, battery tray replacement, and going back with stock style wheels. The wheels on it now are 4-lug chromies I guess the previous owner had put on there. | |

4 lug on a 67??? You sure?? Should have wide 5 pattern unless it was switched out....or am I missing something?

			| Yeah, it has 4-lug wheels on it. When we bought the car, it had (and still has) 4 chromies and a stock style 4 lug wheel as a spare. I guess a previous owner switched them for some unknown reason. I've had people try to tell me it's on a later pan, but it's not. The numbers match and the chassis number starts with 157... which tells me type I convertible 1967. | |

			| So, was it upgraded to disc brakes? Or maybe is it running wheel adaptors? It's hard to imagine that someone went through all the hassle of changing 5 lug drums to 4 lug drums. | |

			| No, there are no disc brakes or wheel adapters. What exactly would be involved in such a swap? I would like to go back to the original style wheels eventually. In reference to going through the hassle of this modification, the guy we bought the car from in '98 was pretty wealthy and from what I could tell had all the work done at local VW shops. So, I could see this guy paying a significant amount to switch to do this job.

			| I guess it's not a huge hassle, you would have to replace the drums and maybe the spindles. Not a ton of work, but there's probably a story around why they did it. Maybe the PO really liked those rims alot or something. I guess I just didn't think that it would be necessary to switch to 4 bolt rims, and then run normal drums and stock looking hubcaps.
 BTW...nice looking vert!

			| You can't tell from the pics i posted, but the hubcaps are actually not stock- they have the Porshce logo in the center. Please god tell me this guy didn't change the drums/wheels to put Porsche logo hubcaps on the car!!! The car also came with the original hubcaps, but no original wheels unfortunately. | |

			| I think those rims look pretty nice. They might be wider than stock too (4.5 inches) maybe 5 or 5.5. | |

			| Nice looking vert. I like the faded yellow look it has going on. I think I would convert it back with a wide five disc kit. | |
