Ok everyone, I have a 1.6 diesel non turbo, It would start and run fine, then when I would drive away the rpm's just took right off into a higher rpm, it would not return to the normal rpm either unless I shut off the engine or engaged the clutch. It was like the injection pump was sticking or something inside?.... The Cure? Sea Foam fuel injection cleaner, leave it running in idle for 3 hours put the whole can into the fuel take and run er as long as you can,

When this happened to me it was because I stupidly put 2 o-rings on one fuel injector, and 0 on another.
It was fine for 5 or 10 minutes, and then went crazy on me.
Fall is coming though, and I'll be looking into sea-foam (or similar) cleanses real soon! |
