| I've got a '74 Super Beetle with tires that say 165R15 86S on the back, and 165R15 87S on the front. I'm looking to replace JUST THE BACK TWO badly worn tires for now. Are these stock sizes/stock rims? Should I replace the back two tires with the same 165R15 86S, or a different size? |

| Stock size is 165r15 86s. (Or at least that's what I have on my 1973 super) |

| Originally it would have been bias ply tires 6.00x15. 165R15 and 165SR15 were the radial equivalents but those have pretty much disappeared as tire designations. These days you see 165/80R15. |
