I'm replacing the fuel lines on my 81 2.0L Vanagon. From the fuel rail to the injector is this short piece of fuel line. It unclamps from the rail but there does not appear to be a clamp holding it to the injector. Can it be removed and changed? How? Do I have to buy a new injector with fuel line attached? I'm afraid I'm going to break the injector if I start trying to pull it off...

Cut the metal ferule and you will be able to pull the hose off the barb of the injector. Use a new fuel injection fuel clamp to attach the new hose.

Best bet?

They are 35 years old, send them out for a good cleaning and performance check.

They'll come back working like new with new hoses on them.

Fast, good job, reasonable price.......
