Wow, thanks to this thread I was able to get my Thing light switch working again. The headlamps only worked when you touched the switch just right. The bakelite board was cracked, but I was able to crazy glue it back together. Then I discovered the smaller switch plate's nub had worn all the way down, so I had to fab another one out of a soft, nubbable metal. It looked janky as heck, but it works! The rheostat coil was non-existent, but I don't expect I will be blinded by the dashboard lights at their highest setting.
Thanks Ray! |

This really helped me out!
Learning how to get the shaft out was key.
Any way to get this posted in the Tech Tips for Bay Window Bus? ( That's where I looked first)
Thanks Ray! |
