Go the other direction exhaust, back in the day their gear boxes made them faster than the GTI's it's rumored that they then changed the exhaust to slow some. also check the cat. |

One of my fox wagens has a 16V in it, I wished I had kept the 8V now, the front end stands on end when I jump on it.
Prior to going with the GLI motor, I put in a Audi 5000 TB. Opened up the exhaust a bit but it broke the trans
Now with a 5 speed is it fun to drive, just cant keep the front end from raising 4 inches! |

The engine used in the Fox was the same 1.8 used in the Golfs & Jettas; they installed a smaller I.D. cat inlet "donut" to detune them from the factory. Get the larger-diameter donut intended for a Golf/Jetta(as well as three 8mm x 40mm bolts & lock nuts), and install it. Sounds simple, and hokey? Yes. Does it work? Yes. |
