I have a 110v miller Mig.
General welding I get and am fairly good at considering I just started but it's learning curve.
The Spot weld kid isn't too helpful where you can't get the pliers onto the seam. BUT IT's a cool thing to consider getting.
The hint about turning the heat up might help. I"m going to try that. Plus screws in places you can't reach.

for the record when i had that problem with my cargo floor i did ;
- raised the heat, alot. I went from A (lowest setting) to C (medium one)
- raised the wire feed, alot too. To get a good pool, you need alot of wire. On a scale of 1 to 8 i believe, i was at 5.
- Screw helped alot. When there was a lip, i used standard pince grip to hold it as close as possible near what i was welding.
- used 1/4 hole. It was the smallest i could go. Smaller than that it felt like the pool didnt get hot enough to get good penetration.
-as Eric&Barb advice, using a wet rag over weld helped cooling down faster and avoid wave and/or weld popping.
