I have a 1991 VW vanagon that has power locks and windows. I can use the driver door to operate the passenger window but I cannot operate from the passenger side. I have replaced the switch with no luck.
Also, my power lock on the passenger side doesn't work either. When I lock my driver door, it locks that door and the sliding door but not the passenger door. I spoke with someone that said it might be a vacuum hose issue but when I looked at my driver side door there is no hose hooked up to the actuator nor on the passenger side actuator. My speakers work and my window is operable from the driver door so I don't think it is a power issue. Before I go and spend the money on a new actuator, I would like hear some feedback

The system isn't vacuum actuated.
It is likely a broken wire in the door jam. Drop the glove compartment and unplug the wires then check for continuity with the same colored wires in the door. |
