Does anyone have, or know where I can locate some detailed drawings of body dimensions...?
I've had a bug come into my shop, and the rear looks to have had a shunt at some point in its life, and then repaired (badly) at another vw shop.
Telltale for me was the badly fitting wing, and then when I've measured up, the engine bay tapers down on the side trays by over an inch over the length of them...
Cheers in advance for any help!! |

Hopefully you get a faster resource than me.
I think the Bentley shop manual has very detailed dimensions for body alignment and repair. When I can get to mine, I'll see if they look like what you need. If they do, I can scan them and upload them.
You might see in the technical tab if someone has already done this. |

If I am understanding the dimensions correctly, the left door opening is 1mm larger than the right? Interesting. |

somewhere here on Samba there is a thread with convertible door gap info. I stumbled across it after I got my 56 vert but foolishly did not bookmark it

Hello there. I’m not sure if this would help you but it has been priceless for me. I have a beetle body I call “The Bible Bug”. I use it’s for reference and measurements when I’m reconstructing bodies. If I can be of any assistance feel free to reach out to me. |
