Just bought a 1957 which had a beehive oil cooler as well as this muffler tip:
I assume it is a vintage accessory as the car was parked in 1975 and hasn't ran since. Any clues? |

Thanks for the information, I know nothing about these accessories or this era of beetle development as my last car was a 67 that was chopped and screwed so many times I could never match years in it. This 57 is at least numbers matching, but has odd things like this zoom tube and those deluxe wooden bumpers. |

Don't throw those bumpers away. If you have them tree-ring dated you could find they were made for a Split Window Beetle...very rare. ;) |

I'm kinda likin the bumper.
Everywhere you go you can say you've "got wood".
Maybe carve up some wooden overiders and put on a wood slat roof rack. Get a whole lumber theme going! |
