I have a 59 Panel that I am working on that at some point lost its nose. To remedy this I have a new nose to bring it back to life. I know that this will be a frankenbus, so why not make it a swivel seat are my thoughts right now.
I have looked at all of the pictures that I could find in the gallery, every thread that mentions "swivel" and eyeballed every swivel bus at the OCTO meets for the past couple of years to learn as much as I can.
Knowing that an authentic swivel seat base never shows up in the classifieds, is there an alternative you would suggest to use in its place? A bay window swivel? Vanagon?
How about this generic unit from Northern Tool?

Any thoughts are appreciated. 8) |

John Jones of KCW recently built himself a camper and made some custom swivel seats for it out of beetle seat frames, bearings and some readily available various VW backing plates/pulleys. Obviously no where near an exact SS replica but it is functional which is all he was shooting for. Some details here:

sorry no specific link but there are some very low profile swivel bases available for marine seat boxes/pedestals. I'm sure you'd find something there easily enough.
cheers

Walmart sells swivel bases for boat seats for around $10 in the boat supplies area. |

Yeah, me too. Hell, I'm excited to see the 3D printed one just mocked up on a bus...hopefully that'll happen soon. |
