I highly recommend that every vanagon/Bus owner take the time to properly document their vehicle at least once a year. The past couple of Stolen Van Reports I've gotten have had very old and outdated photos of the van that was stolen. Old photos do no good in helping recover your stolen van.

Do yourself a favor. Make time to properly photograph your van/bus from every side and corner. This will greatly help the chances that your van will be recovered if it's ever stolen. Now take things one step further, go ahead and photograph the interior and engine bay as well for insurance purposes.

If for some reason the van is stolen and not recovered, now you have documented photos of the condition of the entire vehicle in order to help you reach a good settlement. It's best to have all of these photos set aside someplace safe on your computer or on your phone for easy access.

I can add them with that info listed... Isnt the LIMBO group international? is there a specific chapter for the NE?

they might have 1 or 2 events listed in canada, but they are mostly north east focused

HoustonPhotog Wed Jun 14, 2017 8:33 am

Able;

I was thinking there might be some place on the app to add the photos suggested above to the user account. Would make the stolen van section incredibly nimble. For one, if my van went missing, I'd have a really hard time remembering where I stored the photos. It might take me a day just to calm down enough to remember, and then get them uploaded.

Might be moot, if it would take too much storage on your end.

Great App tho, regardless, many many thanks!

Definitely looking into making it available to users to store photos within the app for just that reason.

thanks

Be sure to sign up to be a Driveway Camp Host within the VanAlert app in order to give some like minded VW Vanagon/Bus travelers a safe place to camp for a night while they pass through you town. Good times indeed!

Got to use the app to contact a rescue squad member near Portland, ME for some advice on a coolant leak last week

The app was super helpful as was the advice!

5 Stars

Does the app separate out rescue squad members?

When you open the Vanagon Shops link the Vanagon Rescue Squad members are listed there amongst the repair shops. This helps users not have to jump back and forth between two sections of the app in order to find help.

We also have a separate section for Aircooled Bus Repair Shops and their associated aircooled rescue squad members.

When displaying the Vanaogn Shops link the repair shops and rescue squad members will list in order of closest to your current GPS location.

Awesome!

Never knew that rescue squad was among the 'shops' listings. Can you add to the home page '(incl Rescue Squad)' in smaller font below the 'Vanagon Shops' label so that dummies like me will know where to look?

Great app.... :D

Ha! I just saw there's a Rescue Squad member 900 feet from my house. if I break down two blocks from home I now know who to call. :D

Here's a GPS tracking unit. Older versions used analog 2G signals which are almost all obsolete making the older devices obsolete. This new version works on 3G. There is a monthly plan starting at $9/mo. This Trackmate Dash 2.1 is on sale $99.99 with free Prime Shipping. ($20 off normal price).
