Hey guys,
i'm looking for a complete lock set for my 75' T2B – pretty much like this one ... but including the ignition lock. I know, rare stuff.
Any ideas?
Best regards from Hamburg (Germany)

There was a thread on here recently on how to key your own door locks. you could buy any set of mismatching units, with some extras for the "pins" and key them yourself to the ignition you buy. I will attempt to find the thread and edit it in later.....
here it is

Hey and many thanks... unfortunately this wouldn't work for me, since all my locks got pierced. :-( |

Since every van came with a complete set they shouldn't be very hard to find. Maybe place a want to buy (WTB) ad in the classifieds. |

pierced? what does that mean?
I intended that you buy a mismatched set, if a matched is hard to find or expensive |

Exactly..
Since you would have to take all the locks out anyways. What does pierced mean? If you can get them apart and remove the little biscuits that actually create the pattern for the key you will have more than enough to take any set of locks and rekey it to one matching set. I would just see about a new ignition tumbler and match it from there.
I did mine that way. I swapped a whole steering column with key and rekeyed all the doors to match. |

I am guessing that pierced means that someone damaged his locks. |

email [email protected] for a set as I am darn sure he has all those locks but you will have to rekey them. |

Hey guys,
sorry, I'm not a native speaker. Pierced = damaged. Someone tried to steal my bus and stabbed the locks with a screwdriver or something. That's why they are all broken... no chance to rekey them.
But many thanks for your hints anyway! |

They hit all 3 doors, the tailgate and the ignition? Damn, someone really wanted your bus!
Like I said, the locks themselves are easily re-keyable if you have them out anyways, you may not necessarily need a matching set to start |

yes all three doors excluding tailgate and ignition (but the ignition works only after several attempts - the starter is functional though). I'd prefer to have all locks lockable with one key. :? |

If you can put together a complete set Steve at Steve's Lock Shoppe in Texas can rekey them for you or make keys to code. Google for his web site.
I've rekeyed my ignition lock myself by just mix and matching the wafers to get close, then inserting the key into the tumbler and dremel-ing off the high points. Not a perfect job, probably slightly less secure, but it works perfectly which is the important part to me.
Edit: just realized that you're in Germany, so you probably don't want to mail things back and forth to Texas. But surely there's someone in Germany with experience in Volkswagen locks!! |

I have a full set. Need to clear it as I had a buddy (Xevin) who might have wanted them. I also need to make a key for them but I got the full set of both front doors, ignition, and slider and hatch locks, all original. PM me.
