As I mentioned above, you can clean the MAF. Don't toss the old one. Clean it and keep it as a back-up.

I tried cleaning it with electronic cleaner. I'm pretty it's shorted out. Since I can check MAF with a disconnect, I'm tossing it. If you're near Ventura, you can come pick it up! I have a new Delphi one coming for $130. I skipped the OEM Hitachi that was $260. The one that I shorted was a cheap one that was around $100. The original one that came with the engine had a broken housing I JB welded for a few years.


BTW:
On the TPS: I was able to check the resistance and it was a nice linear response. I had a spare and I hooked it in during idle (close throttle without mounting it) and no change. But thanks for the suggestion

On the Coolant temp sensor: I can observe the reading on the laptop and the values were nominal.

I'm just trying to document may failings for reference....I hope to report the MAF as the smoking gun (tailpipe) in a few days after I take it out this weekend for the first time in 3 months.
