I have my dash off for a complete cleanup, pad replacment, wiring extravaganza, etc. While feeling around under there I found out why my washers aren't working. There is NO hose from the washers to the tank below. The T is there and the hoses are intact across front, and wiring and hoses, now repaired, are intact to the rear. At the T directly behind the master cylinder the hose disappears. After much searching I've found what I'm pretty sure is the grommet that it goes/went through down to the tank and pump.
My question, if I pull the grill can I get to this without messing with the radiator? Maybe pull the lower grill (mine is an AC model). Hopefully I can source this size hose and a T easily and just redo it all.

| I can't speak directly to an AC equipped vanagon, and my repair was just to a section of hose, but I don't recall the radiator or anything else being in the way of the repair. The grilles are easy to remove so easy to have a look. It shouldn't be too hard to fish a new hose in. |

Thanks Vnut. Problem solved. There is no access from the grills on my square headlight model, but it was easy to drop the bottle from the bottom and fish a new hose down from the top. I used some rigid air line that I had floating around the shop. |
