I've just painted the heat exchanger/front exhausts on my 71 T1 vert. I used VHT gray Flame Proof primer. I'll bake it in our oven to cure. My question is, I like the gray color and finish and want to leave it in primer. What problems can I expect from doing that -- leaving it in primer?
Thanks!

Primer does not act as a barrier to moisture. The VHT paint I used would soften up when heated so while the exhaust was hot it would easily scrape off. With this in mind I don't think there is a benefit from heating your parts up in an oven. |
