| I just purchased a vw trike to add to my toys and I need to order some parts but am unsure as to which engine this is. I would greatly appreciate any help on this.this is what is below the generator stand. D252081x One person I talked to told me that it would make it a 66 but then I also read that a 66 has a non removable generator stand and mine is removable. |

The removable gen stand started in 61.
61 through 65 is a 1200 and is different, parts dont interchange.
A 66 usa model would be a 1300cc single port.
The 66 1300 is directly related to all type one engines until the end.
Many (sort of) interchangeable parts.
What does your look like?
Is it a single port?
Any documentation of last time it was apart?
If you had the very last vw imported to usa it would be 38 yrs old and have much unknown work done to it over that much time.
Engine numbers and serial numbers dont mean much anymore as most anything you find is a hodge podge of whatever junk. |
