| Hi, just wanna ask what shocks for a 61' would be best for daily rough road trips... Are there shocks available that would give an early beetle an almost super beetle mcphearson feel? Thanks! |

The stock setup is very robust and good for such a light car.
Gas shocks are too harsh for the street, but maybe if you have a lot of wheel hop or bottoming on potholes, they might work for you.
I lived on a mile long dirt road with a creek crossing and the stock shocks worked fine for me.
Careful adjusting of tire pressures can improve the ride greatly, too. Don't go too high in front. |
