I'm going to be pulling the dash soon and refurbish the heater box.
I've read lots of threads on this and it seems some have successfully resealed the box without those expensive clips.
Can anyone post some photos showing how they used screws or zip ties?
Any comments pro/con?
I understand some of the boxes have reusable clips but I don't know what I have in my 89 yet. |

The first time I did a heater box, I used binder clips (and removed the little silver handles.) They worked fine. It's not OEM, but they were readily available and they're quite stout.
They are also very effective at holding in side window screens that have broken tabs and securing mosquito netting to the slider door opening. :D |
