Ok guys have now broken 3 - 1/2" extensions trying to remove these nuts. I have also tried a pencil torch to heat them up and nothing. What else can I do?

You'll need a breaker bar or the special axle nut removal tool.
Someone will probably post a picture of one, or you can search the Internet or gallery here.
I usually have good luck with a 2 foot or so cheater on a wrench. |

Ya I have been using a 4ft bar and standing on it. I did just notice that torque multiplier for VW on ebay. CiP is currently out of stock.

The torque multiplier tool is the best $100 you'll ever spend.

Yes I think I will buy one. Its for my dune buggy and I plan on keeping it a long time so it should be a good investment.

You can also go down to Sears and buy a 3/4 inch drive breaker bar--the kind with the sliding head. Also, buy the 1&7/16 socket to match.
Put your four-foot cheater on it and go for it.
The 1/2 inch is simply too small.

The Torque Meister tool is amazing and worth every penny. Completely effortless to remove and install high torque axle nuts and gland nuts.
