Hey all,

I am getting fuel delivery to cylinders 1 & 2 but not 3 & 4. I am in the middle of trying to sort out all of the vacuum lines and looking for some help on that. [Fig 1.] I am assuming this is the reason for no fuel getting to 3 & 4? I notice at the end of the fuel rail going to the fuel return there is a pressure regulator which has a tiny hose coming off of it... In my bentley manual there is really only a diagram for the Water cooled engine.. which looks like this tiny hose goes to the intake air distributor? where do I hook this up to?

I saw a youtube video where someone switched all their fuel lines to clear lines. If I have to redo everything I would like to do this so I can see if there is flow or not. Anyone know what type of line they may have used? Is there really such a thing as clear fuel lines?

Are there any diagrams showing the airflow path anyone could point me towards? Best I can find is 24.24 in the Bentley which is labeled for the wasserboxer [Fig 5.]. Is the aircooled set up is pretty much the same?

Also the previouse owner gheddo rigged up some sort of water hose adapter to the intake boot [Fig 2.]. Anyone have a part number for the correct Y connection I see in photos of other motors? Or any solutions to this from the hardware / auto parts store?

and the tiny hose coming off of the dececel regulator [Fig 3.]? does this go to the little regulator on the ignition coil??

And a hose that I had found just jammed into the cooling tin. Is this supposed to go here? if so does it just connect into the thin or is it supposed to hook to something further inside of the tin? [Fig 4.]

Im so lost. I had pics of how everything was hooked up ....but dropped my phone into a lake 8( not like they would have helped too much because I think most of this needs to be redone anyway

There was originally a sticker on the fan shroud or somewhere in the engine compartment that showed hose routing. Your "T" fitting was probably originally a "Y" fitting. Your mystery hose hooked up to the cooling tin was probably for the charcoal canister.

Don't go hooking up any loose hoses without first verifying that what is on the other end of them actually holds vacuum, they may have been left loose on purpose.

how did you come to the conclusion that there is no fuel being deliverd to 3 & 4?
you pulled the injectors and they did not spray when cranking the engine?
or are the cylinders just not firing?

clear fuel lines sound like a bad idea to me.
the proper way to see if there is fuel in the lines is with a fuel pressure gauge.

these types of problems are usually ignition related.

the vacuum diagrams are readily available, even on this site.
the hose routing is basically the same back to 76 bus.
only difference being the physical location of some of the components.

good luck :)
