Yes, I have been doing that daily, but unfortunately a lot of the ads are old and if the seller even gets back to you the part is already sold.

Yes, ideally a front clip would be ideal, but I am having trouble finding a decent one right now.

I was hoping someone had a stash or a old project that they were willing to get rid of.

Thanks for the suggestions

This is what I really need:

This might work for a clip:

Thanks for posting the link to that. I knew I saw it a few weeks ago, but I though we had a deal on another body at that time so I did not save it and could not find it again. I will see if I can connect with the seller.

We really need the passenger side quarter panel and need it to wrap around the front where it connects to the flat panel that the VW emblem is attached to. We do not need it up past the fuel filler and to the door, instead we only need it up to the middle of the front passenger wheel-so basically just cutting that section and welding it in. If anyone has a lead on that wrap around passenger front quarter panel it would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

I'm assuming you tried and also ?

I know Mike Basso at ThingParts has a large selection of used items.

Also, you may want to utilize the following Thing/Type 181 Facebook groups:

Yes, we got some parts from thethingshop, and I have emailed Mike Basso and passed on the info to my bodyshop.

That passenger front quarter panel is hard to find.

The Facebook photos of the work involved are a cool touch from the body shop! I thought the machine with the hook and chain were interesting. I hope you get your Thing back on the road soon

I have been so busy as of late I did not get a chance to update.

I got my Thing back the other week and have been enjoying it ever since.

Corey at Smittys Autobody in Meadow Vista, CA knows sheet metal work for sure, and his staff did a great job on the fit and finish!!!!

Each time I was at the shop I would drool over the other beautiful VWs that they were working on as well as be grateful that they took my project under their wings.

If you are looking for a shop that does QUALITY work, and someone that appreciates classic VWs then give Corey a call!

I will post some photos when I get a chance.

Thanks to everyone that helped with this ordeal!

Looks better than new! Did you have to replace the front license Plate?
