My brake pedal was set with only 7" of gap vs bulkhead. Today, I adjusted the stop plate to move that gap to 8" (and readjusted push rod length for 1mm play at the MC).
However, when I did this, I also had to adjust the clutch pedal. When I tighted up the wingnut to reduce play to about 15, the clutch cable started snagging on the tube mouth - both while depressing the pedal and releasing it,
Driving this way was near impossible as the cable got held up just in the as the clutch plate engaged -- moving off was dangerous.
So, I pulled out the pedal and lubed up the entrance to the clutch cable tunnel as best as I could. Reinstalled pedals. Much better now, but there is still a bit of a snag.
The tube seems to have no play from what I could tell.
What options are there to fix this issue?
Thx! |

| Is there, by chance, a a cut out on the the right side of tunnel ? As in, maybe it was repaired at one point but the tube wasn't aligned properly before being welded back in place. Or maybe the clutch hook is out of whack? Or maybe the drag is actually coming from a worn Bowden tube? Which is common enough. |

No cuts on the tunnel. New Bowden. The snagging seems to be at the entrance of the tube -- the tip of the head of the cable getting hung up on the edge.
Somehow, there seems to be an alignment issue - either because of tube is somehow misaligned or the pedal hook lever geometry was changed. I did take a pic of the lever, but not any measurements |
