That is one heck of a preservation. In the pic I quoted, are those scuffs on the back lift gate? or just weird reflections?

Chochobeef the mark you speak of is on the original paint and probably happened some time ago when it was in storage. This is a mostly og paint van, just the front panel and rear corners have had some paint blended. The remainder is factory applied.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys, I must admit before this bus I was always an early Beetle Split bus guy. Working on this bus to the level we have I have now re found my affection for Latebays. :D

I'm really glad your result is a positive one, but if your goal was to appreciate the late bays, you could have just gone on an 80mph drive in the left lane in one. That converts most split owners. :lol:

Very nice. Did you replace the headliner panels? I’m having a hard time getting the molding over the edge of the opening in the top. Yours looks like it has fasteners in the wood around the opening? Any detail pics of this area?

The headliner is all original factory applied. I will take a few pics tonight for you and post up.
