View original topic: Aftermarket Lap Belt Hardware

Recently bought & installed some aftermarket lap belts in my 67 squareback. I re-used the original mounting hardware, but realized that the lap belts can't really swivel while installed.

Does anyone have any recommendations for seat belt hardware to the belts can articulate a bit while still staying bolted tightly to the body?

Mine swivel because they have the OG nylon bushings in them.

I had to buy new bolts to get the right shoulder width.

If you pull the belt off the tunnel, for example, and measure the thickness of the belt end (where the bolt goes through it to secure it to the tunnel) and the two washers, it should be slightly less than the width of the shoulder on the bolt. I don't have any nylon washers/bushings in mine.

You could also try thinner washers if yours are super thick.
