In many countries, and to avoid import tariffs, Volkswagen has produced its vehicles locally using parts-to-assemble kits. The Transporter has been no exception and there are many places where units from different generations of the van have been assembled.

The AIDS Awareness Expeditions
In 2005, and with the support of Volkswagen, an expedition was carried out to sensitize the general population about the AIDS pandemic. It was one of many expeditions led by the German Joachim Franz, an adventurer and activist who continues to carry his message around the world.

The Post Transporter
Throughout its long career, the Transporter has been used by all types of public services. Postal departments were no exception, and Germany's quickly adopted T1, which paved the way for its successors.

The ever-evolving T6 (2019)
In 2019, the sixth generation of the Transporter received a facelift that brought many of the van's features up to date. Aesthetics, mechanics, security and connectivity are the most renewed aspects in a model that received the name T6.1.

The sixth generation of the Transporter is an evolution of its predecessor in all respects and its version for camping followed the same steps. Aesthetic and mechanical improvements are the general trend of the new California.

Yes it does!. There’s two installments to go.... one is for the surf board and the other a couple of suitcases. |

Before seeing this picture, I thought the black frames were fixed windows. |

Transporter: past, present, future
The Volkswagen van was born in a very particular socioeconomic context. Over time, it has adapted to the changes in a constant evolution that has led it to the second decade of the 21st century in top form, after six generations, and without ceasing to look to the future.
