| Greetings from Minneapolis. I'm completely building a 63 ragtop and in the final stages of putting things together. The engine is a 1641 and has a Weber Progressive carb. In the process of mounting a metal "W" lid, I ran into a clearance problem with the weber air cleaner. I subsequently purchased the short (1 3/4") air filter and am still having clearance issues. I want to keep this carb setup, keep the "W" lid and have it hinged in the normal fashion. I found one Samba post from several years ago on this very subject that didn't end well. I'm hoping someone might have come up with a new solution that doesn't involve changing carbs or altering the lid. MANY THANKS!!! |
