I've used a hand impact drive tool (one hits that with a hammer) and a #3 Phillips bit for these. |

When I did my doors I figured there had to be something better than a phillips head for the hinge so I went to my local fastener shop and I found the same screw only with a hex head. In the 8 years that they have been on and a few adjustments, I've never had a problem. |

Are they just counter sunk screws or is there another official name for them?
I'm replacing my hinges soon. |

Thanks, but when you drill out the rivets in the door to replace the hinges you need to replace the rivets with longer screws and put nuts on the end.
Plus I like the idea of stainless allen head screws. |

M8-1.25 SS Socket Head Cap Screw, Flat Head Similar to this
https://www.grainger.com/product/FOREVERBOLT-M8-1-25-x-25mm-36RJ83
Planned to do this as well. Would think 20mm to replace originals, and 30mm with nut/washer to replace factory rivets. |

Just to follow up. The 8x1.25 worked for bolting the hinge to the body, but they were too large to bolt the hinge to the door. I took the hinge to the hardware store and even 7mm was too large a dia. So I ended up using 1/4-20 bolts and nuts. Mounted them yesterday. |
