Don't know if anyone has had this problem. I've been rebuilding the brake system in my 67' Beetle. My question is on the replacement of the brake light switch on the master cylinder. Brakes work fine, but brake lights don't come on til I really push hard on the brake pedal. Should I take a hypodermic needle with some brake fluid and fill the switch before I reinstall it? I'm thinking there is an air bubble there that doesn't allow the switch to activate until I really press down hard on the pedal. Thanks in advance.

You could try that. However, more likely is that you need a new switch, maybe one of better quality.
Better yet, and safer too: upgrade to a dual master cylinder, that has two switches. |

| Thanks, I know I went to Wolfsburg west and got probably a new stock master cylinder from them from Brazil. I'll try to get another switch and see if that can solve my problem. :P :P :P |

Shouldn't the OP's car already have a dual master cylinder since it's a '67?
