I did take a look on there and saw one decent one but unfortunately none in my area.

Shipping is one thing, payment and accountability are another. I cant verywell fly 3000 miles to go get my money back in the event the other person dosnt follow though, well i suppose i could but it wouldn't be very practical lol.

I've bought a whole lot of things off individuals on forums. Almost all of the interactions went fine. The number of actual scammers is very low. If you pay with a credit card or paypal, you also have recourse if the seller doesn't come through. I've honestly had a higher percentage of issues of dishonesty dealing with professional businesses than I have had dealing with individuals shipping parts online.

I'll say that I've been buying new and used car and motorcycle parts from sellers in the US, Canada and EU for years. Unfortunately, the worst experience I had was with a guy who lived less than 30 miles away from me whom I dealt with in person.

That's absolutely no guarantee that your transaction will go well but there's a pretty sturdy marketplace here on the samba and other places connecting folks with goods through positive long-distance transactions.
