Anyone have or know this engine?
I set the timing to factory specs of 8 degrees BDC and one of the Webers promptly set fire to the air cleaner foam. No big deal since I caught it in time. No wonder I always carry a fire extinguisher! |

Typically one sets timing at 28° to 32° BTDC at 2800-3000 RPM (any advance all in) .... And let the idle timing fall where it may.... There is some variation to idle advance dependent on type distribuitor and source of distribuitor (full centrifugal or SDVA or DDVA)...
