I used to profile according to car choice and brand, but lately it seems stupid driving covers most owners regardless of thier choice of ride.
Around the only ones who are easy to spot are certain "segments of society" who have to impress thier cultural peers with how wealthy and prosperous they appear, so I always watch out for the high end European SUV's. Seems if you can convince the bank to finance that ride you can also skim off a few more bucks to pay off a driving examiner to get a license :? It is somewhat entertaining watching them take 5 stabs at trying to park them now and then though.
But even the newest budget brands seem to not come with signals and pull to the left to favor the fast lane even if there's nobody else on the road, and around here a yellow light just means speed up. Whatever, I try to stay out of thier way, I can anticipate most of thier moves and drive expecting everyone to do the wrong thing, it's only the full speed rear ender while they are texting or T bone from running a stop sign/light that jeebs me out, I have little control over those.

I think you mean CA drivers who moved to Idaho. ;)

That’s pretty much all of Idaho

The type of car stereotype doesn't even apply. The latest distraction that irks me is the number of people wearing earbuds while driving. I could be like the Samba old people and start blasting Millennials for wearing them, but the truth is I've seen teens all the way through middle-aged people doing with both genders represented equally. The ballsier people wear noise cancelling headphones. Two days ago, I saw another driver wearing a headset with microphone, like this:

The other worse distracted drivers are the police officers either engrossed in conversation on their cell phones or else working their in-car computer while driving. I was almost side-swiped by an OKC patrol unit wherein the officer was busy typing away at the keyboard and drifted over far into my lane.

Sweet, I hope they were gaming on an in-car computer too

The Californiacation of Idaho is a sore subject in ID. Californians started moving into the rural neighborhood we lived in (20 houses on 40 acres). They started talking about how we needed a HOA. They wanted everyone there to do things like they were doing. They said there shouldn't be any goats or hogs in the neighborhood, which didn't set well with me since I raised goats. It got bad enough we moved. Sold our house to a Californian.

WE are finally at the point of retirement, and drive slower than we used to mostly due to not having to get anywhere quick. Kids are raised and doing good, got good retirement income, we are very active in our church and town. I am a fanatic for staying out of the left lane except to pass, its what we were taught. We also drive an 83 Mercedes 240D, which is wonderful except it can't get out of its own way. If you see us, don't start cussing, just pass, really its OK.

Unsurprisingly, I am convinced of the exact opposite. I don't hate Washington, just their tourists, shitty drivers, and their state gov't.

The easiest drivers to stereotype around here are those with British Columbia or Alberta license plates. And any lumbering RV on vacation that doesn't give a shit if you have to get to work, they are going to drive 45 MPH in that 60 MPH zone for the next 30 miles and there is no way they are going to pull over to let that line of 15 cars pass by them.

Are they driving Toyota’s? I’ll bet they are.

I think that's a world problem...

when i see people with USA plate, i know they're going to try to turn where they shouldnt, or stop where there's no stop....

Thanks for bringing this back around to the unfinished thread coverage of Idaho drivers in Toyotas. I think many would do a little better if their cars had a shimmy or some level of unpredictability- just enough to prevent the easy distraction of phones and self-pleasure devices apparently required of Prius ownership.

But holy smokes! Today was vulvas in Volvos day! Can one simply pick a freeway speed and stay at it? I had two different dingbats today just enjoying the reflection of their pulsing cars in mine- that or they were becoming my latest "swimfans"-
which could stick if I could swim. Better not be a new Volvo trend.

I drive a 31 year old Toyota pickup with 280K, so I guess maybe it's me. But I doubt it.

Hmm. I seem to drive my old Tercel like Grandma. Seldom in the fast lane. When driving my bus, it is serenity while ALWAYS in the slow lane. When I drive my Civic Si, I am instant asshole. So are all the other Si drivers.. The biggest A-holes drive big Dodge or Ford Diesels around here at let those suckers scream as much as they can..

Ya'll need to spend a week in Miami.

Over the years my observational assessments of feces-head drivers has changed a bit.

Toyotas used to be the worst, especially Camry and Corollas, for many of the reasons stated above. Slow and inattentive is aggravating, but ultimately you are still in control because of their complete lack of speed and aggression.

But these days that's nothing compared to jacked up pickup truck drivers. Most of these guys must have the IQ of firewood, given the way they drive. Super-aggressive and sometimes mean. If there is a vehicle speeding and weaving in and out of traffic, or riding my bumper in the right lane, no less, the chances are very good that it is a jacked up pickup truck driver.

Following closely on pickup truck drivers (see what I did there?), are enclosed Jeep drivers – that is, not the Wrangler-type vehicles, but the Cherokee-type vehicles. I think these guys are trying to compensate for their wives not allowing them to get a Wrangler, instead having to drive around in a normal SUV because it's safer for her and the kids. So they take it out on everyone else by driving like stool-heads.

Included in this group, right behind the Cherokees, are Chrysler product SUVs. After all, they are family with Jeep, and the Chrysler guys don't want to be shown up by the famous off-road brand who happen to be possessed by the company of the cars they drive.

Also note that Chargers and Challengers are not usually driven in a manner undertaken by manure-heads. So, for the Chrysler SUV number-two-heads, it must be the 'hey, Jeep guys, I have a truck, TOO!' mentality, or lack thereof.

Of course, no list like this would be complete without including BMW drivers, the ultimate 'look at me in my ultimate-driving-machine' pieces of poo. And it doesn't matter what model or how clapped out the vehicle might be, the potential for road moronity is there.

We're confused by your archaic system of measuring speed and distance.

The absolute worst people on the road are as follows:

ANYONE driving a car while I'm riding my bike.
ANY cyclist while I'm driving my car.
EVERY pedestrian while I'm either driving my car or riding my bike.
BOTH cars and cyclists when I'm walking.

^^^This.

Our family recently road tripped up to Victoria and Vancouver, and the latter was far and a way one of the worst cities to drive in. It's very bike/ped friendly, which is awesome...if we weren't mostly driving to all of the sites. I managed to get two Canadians to honk their annoyance, due to my flustered erratic driving. So, there are at least two Canadians out there who think Audis from WA are the worst drivers of ever.

BTW, my observations about Toyota drivers holds just as true in Canuckistan.

I will say the woman (mother with her child in the car) that aggressively merged me off the road today didn’t care I was driving an older vehicle. I feel like most guys recognize a “vintage” vehicle and give it room, even if it’s a rust bucket. The vast majority of ladies just don’t care about rusty junk and drive accordingly.

Perhaps that’s more telling about my vehicle than anything else. Mostly I just needed to vent.
