Well, I have dropped the reserve price in the auction considerably.
It is just under 24 hours until the auction ends. Part of me hopes it sells and part of me hopes it does not. :?
Stay tuned. |

It did not sell, but they bidders were very close to the reserve. :P
Think, think, think... |

Is there a way to contact the high bidders to make a deal? That is one advantage to BaT and the discussion forum there. |

I did make a second chance offer. And sent a message "Do you visit The Samba?" Perhaps that was too subtle. He said that yes, he goes there some times. I figured I'd not be too hard to find here. :)
Now I am back to reconsidering if I want to spend my hard-earned retirement time restoring it. :P |

An update...
Note how in this pic the oil gallery plug on the left is covered with JB Weld:
I replaced the two case plugs on the right, using aluminum NPT plug fittings, in an attempt to match the thermal expansion of the case.
It was later discovered that hiding under that mess on the left was an original case plug with a hole in it:
WTF?
Now the oil leak mystery is solved, and now the engine will get a full rebuild at Painter's Grinding in Denver. It will mark the beginning of a whole new chapter for this truck! And with that frustration now resolved, I am reënergized to continue the restoration.
The saga continues around the bottom of page 5 in the original thread for this truck:
