Hi all!
I went looking for a new project bug this week. But I found a pretty good deal on a 70 914 instead.
The seller lost the keys and I need them to get the car running.
I checked the local Porsche dealer. They can make a key based on the VIN number. However Porsche will not guarantee that the key will work after they cut it. This seems like a pricey gamble. $142 to $172 Yikes!
I'm sure that this not a new situation to some of you good folks.
Do you have any alternate suggestions?
I look forward to getting this car running. It's my first Porsche, and T4 style engine. So there's going to be a learning phase.
I'll post some pics once I get the car home.
Thanks for reading. |

Give Anytime lock and safe a call, 3603735167. If you bring the lock in they will disassemble, lube, and make a key that will work like a Brand new lock and key. They are in Bremerton,WA.. |

Thank you for the lead. I wonder if I can send them the door locks and ignition switch. Bremerton is a bit of a drive for me.
I have been doing some research on the issues that I may encounter. Once I dig into this thing.
Oh Boy! I can see that the "hell hole" is likely going to be one of those fun area's that will be needing attention.
Great fun ahead!
Thank you again Starbucket. |
