Has anyone ever seen one of these in Canada? ...considering the prices of hightops these days, I am astonished to see that you can buy a new one of these in Poland for 200euro!! https://allegro.pl/premium-classixxs-vw-t3a-box-wa...JmFAfzTogQ

I would buy one in a flash. Does anyone have pics of what these things look like on the inside? I guess one would have to *fill in* the 'high-door' area with a window and fiberglass... and one would have to add a custom fold-outbed, and various vents/windows > and paneling ....but that's all pretty easy.

If anyone has more info, please post, thanks!

Those postie vans(real ones) are cool, I would get one if they were readily available here. They have metal supports that tie into the roof making it much better than any adventurewagon or other aftermarket roof. I would only consider one with the standard height slider just for replacement purposes in the future, they are available both ways.

ooooooops
I actually kinda suspected that - but was hopeful in any case. My Polish is not so great :)

But in any case, I am very curious about this kind of high top regardless.

Not 200eur... new... but they ARE meant to be a very affordable option in Europe.

To properly install that top you would need to graft in the roof clip.

:) That would probably be the easy part. FINDING one and for a good price is what seems insermountable.

I find them pretty regularly on mobil.de and autoscout24.

Here are a couple of photoshop fantasies ---
1. Joker top
2. Postal top (strangely - I actually like this one the best)
3. Poptop

Have you seen the postal tops in North America?

Yup, imports.

AFAIK factory hightops were never sold officially over the pond. Not sure if due legalisation difficulty or just due shipping costs.

edit: check the local junkyards for an Adventurewagen. Maybe you are lucky to find one

My brother just picked up an Adventurewagen local to me and I've got a GetAway, so they're around.

Currently the Get Away is made in Abbotsford but I dunno if they are the same company that built my Vanagon.
Regardless, I love mine.

I am going to research this right now, but I am not familiar with what an "AdventureWagon" or a "Getaway" is.
