Dang. They used to be solid. Did you see the new edition in my driveway?

Strange how the starter is sticking, why is it doing that! Ugh.
Looking forward to

I wondered if they used a Bosch “Premium” remanufactured starter in the van? Apparently they are now having a high failure rate out of the box. My buddy had two and he knows of another fail out of the box. Some people now are recommending the inexpensive Pure Energy by MPA rebuilt as a better alternative. I put an MPA in my 76 bus last week. The core charge was only $23. I wonder how long it will last? I’ll have the one I took out rebuilt locally.
Where do you take them locally?

Tail a British car for a few blocks until it breaks down, then ask who fixes their Lucas stuff

Awesome cruise night at ye olde Top Notch! Love it! You guys have so much fun.

And now, a rant about Texas.

I am terrified at the new no permit open carry gun laws there. Dumbest law in the universe. Anyone over 21 can carry a loaded gun wherever they want - and just shoot whoever they want to shoot, apparently without consequences.

I have to ban Texas as a place to visit or do business - after I read about 9 year old Arlene Alvarez getting killed by some dumba** trying to shoot someone else. Nope, nope, nope.

I worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety supporting the License to Carry Bureau for 20 years. I completely agree with you. The amount of convicts, felons and insane people that were rejected every month for applying was a decent amount. I will say that I haven't seen a crazy uptick in the amount of people open carrying.

Woah! That's interesting.

There was a recent NYT article about this topic. I guess I'm an advocate for gun control, and I didn't even know it. I don't want to live in a society where anyone and everyone can carry a gun. We have a gun, but it lives in a locked case deep in an old cabinet and never sees the light of day. It's a polarizing topic - and it should be.

Anyhow, the cruise video was awesome and I love how you always include the dogs! The dude who drove up from Mexico in the '81 Bus - that was amazing. I've always thought that Mexico and her people ought to be our friends and allies and it was super cool to see that in action - thanks to VW Life - see, you're bringing us together, dudes!

The problem is that the people that don't obey laws (aka "the bad guys") are ALREADY carrying guns whenever and wherever they feel like. A law requiring permission does not stop them.

think of it like this.. before when there was the LTC law in effect, those without the license could be detained and punished for having a gun. it's the same logic for having a license to drive. sure there will be those that do it without license but if they are found they are arrested or at the very leased ticketed and fined.

An old friend of mine hosts a car show annually in the Cedar Park area.

All you Austin area VW guys should check it out, and support our veterans.

So, it was the starter bushing! Interesting. You guys were laughing so hard on the maiden voyage, that was awesome. Why is it running so bad, though? Those L-Jetronic systems require no intake air leaks - that's super important.
