I would like to replace my front seats at some point and will be looking for seats with arm rests. Where would I find seats to fit with armrests? I know GoWesty has some. Anywhere else?

I believe the wolfsburg models all have arm rests. Mine does. I see seats from Vanagons on line all the time. Craigslist

Will any Vanagon arm rest seat work in my Vanagon, or does the year matter?

all Vanagon front seats can be swapped from any year to any other year and also from left to right. If you only wanted to install armrests, or swap armrests from early to late or vice versa, that is more difficult.

I sold a pair of armrest seats to someone with an early Vanagon that had armrests already attached to the door panels and she reported interference. Watch out for that.

Nice van!

I love the armrests on my Vanagon seats. Some folks don't care for them but I think they're a great part of the Vanagon drive.

I love the stock Vanagon seats and have sat in them for about 17 hours straight. Again, others don't like them. YMMV.

I've considered replacements and here is how I rank them:

- Eurovan seats: a good value with a bit more comfort and full recline.

- Recaros: beautiful and comfortable. But not $3K comfy for me

- Town and Country seats: I don't like them. I think they're ugly and the armrests are knife edges. Why would any one choose to sit in a folding back seat from a mini van? It's a recipe for discomfort. Have I mentioned YMMV? :D
