View original topic: How to connect Vintage Speed muffler if no heater risers?

Have dual carb setup now. (The grey horizontal running pre-heat tube is removed.) Where does the new muffler connect to with this configuration?
Any photos of a dual carb setup with this type of muffler showing how its mounted? Thanks.

I guess I might as well ask, how to identify what type of rear tin I need to get? (its a 1600 squished into a 1960 engine bay) Mine was butchered apparently to go around the heater riser mounting points. (see pics). How to folks get a better fit tin? Trial an error with the tin snips?
Thanks #2.

Since you now have dual carbs get the muffler that doesn't have heat riser bungs.

That way there's nothing to block off.

The Vintage Speed muffler in your picture doesn't have heat risers, so there's nothing to block off. And just by a new tin without holes for heat risers or heater hoses and you`ll be fine.

Back in 1976, when my intake manifold for my Weber 40DCNF had no heat risers, I made such block-off plates in the shop at work at lunchtime. I couldn't find these commercially made back then; and I still use them.
