| Hi all! Have you heard of eautoclassic.com (eAuto Classic Traders)? They seem to have VW buses for a crazy low price (life this: https://autoexplosion.com/cars/buy/332048.php) that look amazing which makes me weary....They advertise that they take no money up front, but bring the car directly to you to try and inspect for 10 days and then if you want it they bill you and if not ship it back for free. Too good to be true? I read that maybe some places kind of Frankenstein buses but i'm not sure what that means either. Just wanted to know if you had any thoughts on it? My husband and I are new to the classic car and VW world and really want to make sure we aren't being taken advantage of on our first bus purchase! Thanks!!!! |

| That's a scam. Rotten, non-running examples are almost fetching that much. |

| A bus like that would go for $115,000. |

| So do you think they just put random parts in there to try and pull it off? Or maybe stolen?! I figured it didnt' make much sense! |

a google image search turns up the same pic used on these sites:
http://www.autoquid.com/car-detail/busvanagon/1967...88675.html
https://mfpclassiccars.com/volkswagen/399697-one-of-the-nicest-vw-buses-in-the-country.html
https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1967/volkswagen/vans/101028688
That last one seems to be about right for pricing. That's probably the real deal |

Looks like most of the vws posted are a scam, atleast on the first page. Theres listings from multiple states using thr same car just different angle pics.
Id trust craigslist more. |

We appreciate that you came on here and asked. We see so many cases where people lost money or bought terrible buses due to scams.
If you still want a bus spend some time here on the Samba and learn. There is such a large knowledge base on this site and people really do want to help. |

Since the bus in the link posted is now gone, I don't know if it was split or bay. But this link is required reading for anyone looking to buy a bus, especially if you don't know anything about them.

I found a camper "for sale" on that site for hella cheap. So I did some internet detective work. Found postings on an RV forum and trike forum. Couldn't dig up to much info. Anyways, both those forums were with people talking about how they are legit and how they broker the deal - Hold the money until you inspect the vehicle that was shipped TO you. "You could back out at any time and get your money back." I mean, come on, this guy who had like 500+ posts on a trike forum said he used them and they were good? BULLSHIT. No one posts that many times on trike forum. Jokes aside, I really couldn't find any real information outside of those two forums with people posting about.
That said, posting this here, you've more than likely helped some one fill their bullshit-o-meter. |
