Anyone have any experience with shipping greyhound? Had a bumper shipped from California to Ohio on 2/4/19. Made it to Dallas TX on the 18th. That's the last update. Customer service has been terrible.

ya!! I had a hood 4 tab for my 1958 type 1 sent from Phoenix to Jackson Mi about 4 weeks  but I was in no hurry . they only put it on bus when they don't have luggage so if it is full its going to set in terminal till there is room .

I bought a replacement front bumper cover for my Subaru. It was shipped Greyhound. Not fast. There was no damage or problems.

I had a bay window sliding door shipping greyhound. Again, no problems. But it isn't fast. I think mine took around a month too. It was the cheapest option by about $50.

I will never use them again. I purchased a complete slash rear bumper from an ad here and it was shipped from South Carolina to me in Vegas. It disappeared along the way. I also bought a rear seat pedestal for my double cab from a Samba ad. It was shipped greyhound and he gave me a receipt for the shipping and it disappeared. Someone at greyhound must be into VW's and dishonest. Both times it was a nightmare to get customer service to really care. I had to have both sellers file a report for lost package and I eventually got most of my money back.

Ditto, had a door shipped a couple of years ago, probably took about 2 weeks but no damage.

I shipped a pair of convertible bug doors. Both came up missing. I had to file a claim and greyhound refunded basicly the shipping cost and that was it. Never again. Use fastenal instead for large items.

i have shipped via Grey hound with no problems-ish

one package i was having sent had the shipping label fall off the box in transit and as a result got shipped about 1,000 miles away from where it was supposed to be sent. Luckily they figured out their error and sent it to the right location.

ever since that incident i have always asked to seller to write my name/address etc in magic marker on the box just in case the label happens to fall off again. i do the same when i am sending packages for that reason

So far so good- they are not fast but they are cheap

I have shipped with them with no problems. Receiving things is a different story. They don't seem to call when your item arrives. I had to call them and they let me know its been there for almost a week. I'm waiting on a bus front beam now. it was shipped from Spokane Washington almost a week ago. According to their tracking, it hasn't left Washington yet. I know the weather has been bad there but its only coming to Salt Lake!

Looks like you get what you pay for. If you wanted tracking and email updates then UPS or FedEx would of been a better option... but you pay for it.

The main thing is that it arrives not damaged.

I have had a few things shipped on Greyhound. The last was a pair of seats. It took a couple of days longer than I had hoped, but no issues.

I haven't gotten anything in a couple years but this was a problem here too. No phone call.
The last few times I called them when I thought it was due to arrive to check.

Be scared. Be very Scared! Most of the time shipping for something on the larger side of things costs more than the part.

When you have it bought & ready to pick up list it on www.uShip.com
Some trucker will carry it to you in the bed of his diesel pickup.

I've shipped a ton of stuff Greyhound, the last 2 years or so, they have SUCKED ! I shipped a Singlecab Roof to Cal., took 6-7 weeks. Oh, Dallas is where they hold "large" parts until they have space. Also, the buyer needs to tell you where the nearest Depot is, not the nearest Bus station, they had a bumper in Chicago for 8 ? weeks, until I got on there case, they "found" it, and the buyer went & picked it up, he thought they would call him when it got to a Bus Station, which was a gas station, they lazy as fuck about calling, and I spent a hour on the phone.

I used them for the first time last month, to ship a 4 tab flat hood from one end of CA to the other. Took about 2 weeks, arrived unharmed.. The person @ Greyhound on my end was super helpful, even went so far as to add extra cardboard to my makeshift "crate"..Fastenal wanted about 2X what Greyhound wanted to ship the same item..But as Glenn says, if it gets there, and it is in the same condition that is was when you shipped it, what's the value in that?

I recently had a squareback roof rack shipped to me. total distance was 450 miles and it took 3 weeks; about 2 weeks longer than expected. I had to call greyhound 2 times to inquire where it was. The only thing they told me was that it was still in the sellers location. A day after my second call they called me and said it had arrived. Definitely frustrating compared to the tracking service we get from others but I would use them again.

So far so good- they are not fast but they are cheap I have shipped with Greyhound dozens of times, never a problem. You must clearly mark on the package with a large tip Sharpie so a label cannot fall off. Clearly write your phone # on the box, I have always received a phone call. Their prices have gone up, but still a deal for large items. Shipping around the holidays is ALWAYS asking for trouble. As mentioned, if the bus if full of passengers, the package gets bumped until there is room. I shipped a rear bug decklid from Oregon to South Carolina and it arrived in 3 days!

MR.veedub Fri Mar 01, 2019 8:48 pm

I've had several items shipped by greyhound and never had any problems with them.
