Does anyone have a vapor recovery unit diagram for viewing? I have all the hoses but don't know where the heck to connect them. I think that this is the reason why I smell gas if I make a hard left or accelerate to fast. Thanks.

This is the way my '70 is set up. I don't profess it's right, I just copied the layout I saw on Ghia at a car show.
The recovery cannister has 2 nipples (one low in the front and one high in the back).
1 - The high one in the back connects to the gas tank (the gas tank nipple is on the front right).
2 - The low nipple on the front of the cannister connects to a "T", the "T" is then connected to 2 nipples (one right above the filler neck and one in the most upper left section of the trunk area). This line actually runs under the car and comes out in the right rear fender well and connects to the activated charcoal cannister in the back.
Actually, the more I think about it, I'm wondering if the gas tank should be hooked up to the lower nipple. Check out the description under the Emmission Control section under 2-3 in the Orange Bentley. I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks.
As for fumes, I understand you'll get some fumes if the filler neck isn't properly fasteneed. The filler neck of the tank and the filler pipe (?) should both have big thick rubber band type gaskets. The rubber filler neck pipe fits over the gaskets. Tighten the hose clamps real tight.
