Last week I bought a 25hp engine and also got a gearbox with it.
The gearbox had short splined drive shafts and no gearbox number.
The engine had the engine number behind the fan house ontop of the engine.
I got the tip that it could be parts for a Tempo Matador so yesterday I went back to the seller and and he had no clue about this.
The engine was in the barn when he bought the place 19 years ago.
I left and stopped about 1km away at a house were I saw some people standing.
One of this older guys knew about a wreck in the forest about 400 meters from the farm I bought the engine.
He showed me the place and there it was.
He had lived there since 1971 and the wreck was standing there already at that time.
The guy that showed me the place knew the land owner so 3 hours later it was mine
Today I will start the rescue of it.
The pick-up is standing on its wheels but it has sunk down in the ground 10-20cm.
So I will start some digging :D
More photos will be after today's work. |

Here are some more pictures from last Sunday when we started the rescue.
My son is helping me
Thanks to my kids that lets me do this
This is how we leave it for the day.
The chassi number is 101837, I believe it is the second oldest in Sweden. Only 49 number after the oldest here.

This is some pictures from this Saturday when I did the final rescue
2 hours from wen we got there it was standing on the trailer.
Last Sunday I got the rear wheels rotating again so we lifted it in the front and just pulled it as a trailer.
Home again on the farm for about 50-60 years in the woods.
And here it is going to rest until I know exactly what to do with it.
As it is right now I believe it to be my next project.

I Will probably not start with this projekt until next summer, I need to be finished with my split bus first.
Which you can see here. (In swedish)

But I would not be surprised myself if I have started earlier :-) |

Is there anyone who has blueprints for the cabin?
Is it possible to buy spare parts somewhere, brakes, sheet metal .... ? |

Hi from Germany!
This is an awesome find. Congrats!
I donīt know much about These but the manufacturer was Vidal & Sohn Tempo-Werk GmbH near Hamburg.
I think they used various parts from that time. (aftermarket or other manufacturers)
There seems to be a Club:
https://tempo-dienst.de/envira/matador-50/
Hopefully they can provide some more Information.
Even the Autostadt in Wolfsburg has a similar car. And the german Museum "Prototyp" has a Trailer-car too.
Hope it helps a bit,
Tobi |

Love these! The standard ride height already looks slightly lowered. I was drooling over the Limebug Matador as Dubfreeze last year.
So cool 8) |
