I've been digging through threads trying to find if anyone had a method for removing the expanded spray foam that is in the C-Pillars (and possibly other locations) on the Type 3's. Historically, The foam over time gets crusty and disintegrates and is also known to trap water that leaks into the foam channels.

Ultimately, I need to cut and weld in some patch paneling on my fastback but I keep lighting the car on fire inside the sheet metal paths. Anyone have less destructive methods for removing the foam?

Bend up a wire coat hanger to fit in your drill chuck. You can 'roto rooter' the foam out of hard to get to places.

I'll have to try that, I might even have some rotorouter spring steel lying around i could try.
