Since it's the 10th anniversary, we have some special things planned. Alot of work has been put into this show to make it great, the raffle project bus is one of those "New" things that we as SV2s have not done before.
I've received many calls regarding the swap area, so we should have a good swap. the raffle prizes are still coming in, we also have a motor and tranny to raffle.
See you all there!!!!!!!!! :D |

TO anyone that is "on the fence" about going to the Familienfest:
Get off the fence and get yer butt to that show !
It's really a good show, nice, relaxed, family-oriented (No wet T-shirt contests here) in a cool spot. Bob Baker, also hosted by Strictly Vintage 2's, is a great show, as well, but space there is limited by the amount of room the dealership wants to give them. Consequently, the parking of the show vehicles, through no fault of SV2's, can get a little tight, as far as getting clean unobstructed photos of the show cars.. Not so with the Familienfest. It's just a great show, in a great location, put on by some great folks. If you go to the Familienfest and don't have a good time, it will be YOUR fault. Yes, I am a member of SV2s, although I don't have a lot of time to participate anymore, I encourage anyone that can, to go. Trust me- you will be glad you did. |

vtobusman, I have been at the Familienfest's since the very first one, where then-President of Strictly Vintage 2's, John Winkley, had to put up his rent money to cover all the expenses..I have NOTHING repeat NOTHING bad to say about either event, or Strictly Vintage 2'[s. I have heard a few people grumble about the tight quarters at the Bob Baker event, that they can't really open their doors, and people walk by and knock their mirrors out of whack, etc etc, and I have always made sure that I explained to the folks grumbling that it is the doing of the dealership, not SV2s, and that with the club trying to make as much $$ as they can, not only for themselves for operating capital throughout the year, but to help defray the costs of the show itself (think it's easy? think it's not expensive? try doing it yourself, and tell me afterwards how easy and cheap it isn't, LOL) it has to be that way. SV2s could pack 'em in even tighter if they wanted to, but they always limit the show area to, I think it's either 75 or 80 cars, so they WON'T be door handle to door handle. There's always a few latecomers that have to park on the street @ Bob Baker, simply because they didn't pre-register, and there just isn't enough room to pack them in somewhere. What I was getting at was that at Guajome Adobe, there isn't that problem, you can take up the whole area, probably 500+ cars would fit in that place, and still have room left over. I was a bit worried when they lost the Deer Park venue, through no fault of their own, and had to, in an incredibly short amount of time, find another venue for the show. But, they did find one, and I think it's as good, if not better than, the old Deer Park site. I hope this clarifies any misconceptions anyone might have had about my ealier post. |

Wow, 500 cars Dave? I hope we have enough staff to park all those cars. We definitely have enough room to accomodate all those cars, but for those who come out, we have 61 awards to hand out at this show.
The more VW's the Merrier!!!!! Bring-em-on-down |
